The solids/liquids separation principle of this centrifuge

 

The worm/screen centrifuge is composed of a drive unit located in a bearing housing, the screen element and the product housing. The solids/liquid mixture flows via a central feed pipe to the inside of the worm.  The interior of the worm has a feed cone that pre-accelerates the slurry and also distributes it uniformly onto the screening element.

The equipment is normally of conical design to meet the process requirements. According to the characteristics of the material, the size of the cone angle and the size of the model,maintain different distances.

 

The rotating components, such as the filter assembly and the screw scraper, are supported by the differential in the bearing housing.

 

Maintaining proper speed difference between screw scraper and filter assembly according to design results in uniform product acceleration and distribution. This structure can make the material be evenly distributed and accelerated to ensure that the equipment can also run very stably when the concentration of the material and the amount of the material fluctuate.

 

The solid-liquid mixture enters the smallest diameter area in the rotating part, and most of the liquid is separated through the screen.

 

The solid particles slide to the large diameter direction under the action of centrifugal force and the push of the screw scraper, and are discharged from the large end.

 

Different designs of screw scraper can adjust the sliding speed and residence time of solids. Of course, this is also related to the characteristics of the material.

 

Another advantage of the worm/screen centrifuge is the conical basket design, the solids layer thickness reduces as it progresses toward the larger diameter which loosens the “cake” allowing further dewatering. This type of machine can also clean materials under certain conditions.

The bearing housing of the drive part is the main bearing part of the whole equipment.

 

Vibration isolation of the bearing housing from the foundation is done with rubber buffers. These eliminate 95% of any/all dynamic loads.

With all rigid gear executions, machines can be supplied with dual drive motors to control differential speeds via variable frequency drives.
